Despite being born with a rare condition known as congenital amputation, Kyle Maynard has not let disability hinder his path to becoming a successful athlete and adventurer.

The 30 year old American is an ESPY award-winning mixed martial artist who, in 2011, became the first quadruple amputee to climb Mount Kilimanjaro without the aid of prosthetics. His autobiography, No Excuses: The True Story of a Congenital Amputee Who Became a Champion in Wrestling and in Life, became a New York Times bestseller and he is now the owner of the a crossfit gym in the US called No Excuses. His growing public profile (he’s also a motivational speaker) led to Maynard landing a lead role in a Nike Unlimited series campaign video earlier this year, which has been viewed over 1.5 million times.
